    Dusting off the cobwebs

I should remember to update here at least once in a while.

    I ATEN'T DEAD.

Went to the re-enactor's market at Leamington which has improved greatly.  More traders including a wider variety of Dark Ages and a bit less armour!

Spent loads of money but, thankfully, most of it was Svartland's rather than ours.  We've bought a coin dye from Grunal Moneta with which to make money (in more than one sense of the word).  That was the big purchase.  We bought some fruit wine from Troll's Bottom, jerked meat from Martin, a valkyrie pendant for me (the lady with the drinking horn who is also on the Kindred logo) and Odin on the High Seat from Viking Crafts.  Also got a basic but good book on braiding from Felicity Warnes

Both Finna and I liked Lucy the Tudor's heddles but were rapidly running out of money so will be ordering from her website later.

Mooching on Felicity Warnes site and following links, I found this place.  Some of Svartland are off to the open day to check it out and possibly look at doing feltmaking courses.  Knowing somewhere fairly local that supplies fleece from heritage breeds of sheep is also good.

This year we're growing some historical varieties of vegetables - including white carrots and white beetroot which, if the crops are successful, we can use as part of the living history displays.

We've got our first full training weekend in April - private camp but run as if a gig to help people get back into the swing of things and, of course, so we can have a fun weekend.

Got quite a few gigs booked this year - Cosmeston for the first time, looking forward to that, History Fair and Tintagel being the bigger gigs.
